7 Ways To Transform Your Skin

Nutrition is important for health. An unhealthy diet can damage your metabolism, cause you to gain weight and even hurt organs, such as your heart and liver. But what you eat also impacts another organ — your skin. No one wants bad skin, but instead of spending all your money on fancy face creams and moisturiser you can simply eat better. More specifically, make sure your diet contains some or all of the following;

1) Avocados

Avocados are also a good source of vitamin E, which is an important antioxidant that helps protect your skin from damage.

Vitamin C is also essential for healthy skin. Your skin needs it to create collagen, which is the main protein that keeps your skin strong and healthy. A deficiency in vitamin C can cause skin to be dry, rough and scaly and tends to bruise easily.

2) Walnuts

Walnuts, in many ways, are an excellent food for healthy skin. They are a good source of essential fatty acids. In fact, they’re richer than most other nuts in both fatty acids.

5) Dark Chocolate

After 6–12 weeks of consuming a cocoa powder high in antioxidants each day, participants in one study experience thicker, more hydrated skin. Their skin was also less rough and scaly, less sensitive to sunburn and had better blood flow — which brings more nutrients to your skin.

Another study found that eating 20 grams of high-antioxidant dark chocolate per day could allow your skin to withstand over twice as much UV radiation before burning versus eating low-antioxidant chocolate.

Several other studies have produced similar results, including improvements in the appearance of wrinkles. But make sure to choose dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa in order to maximize the benefits and keep added sugar to a minimum.

6) Green Tea

Green tea may protect your skin from damage and aging. The powerful compounds found in green tea work to improve the health of your skin in several ways.

Like several other antioxidant-containing foods, green tea can help protect your skin against sun damage. Green tea also improves the moisture, roughness, thickness and elasticity of skin.

While it is a great choice for healthy skin, you may want to avoid drinking your tea with milk. Milk could reduce the impact of green tea’s antioxidants.


7) Water

Obvious one I know. But water is so important for your health and skin. Although it’s an easy fix, the benefits of drinking enough water everyday can be a massive game changer.

Yes, water keeps your skin hydrated—and staying hydrated makes it appear plumper and less wrinkled. But there’s another reason to fill up on water over other drinks: You’ll save on sugar. Sugars found in juices, sodas, and sports drinks cause your skin major woes. When blood sugar levels are high, sugars can attach to proteins in collagen and produce compounds that cause skin to sag and wrinkle.

Just another reason why water is always the best drink.
